Annual Congregational Meeting

Redeemer’s Annual Congregational Meeting will be Sunday following our worship service. Items to be considered are the 2018 Proposed Spending Plan and election of new members to the Church Council.  Copies of the Proposed Spending Plan are available in the Narthex.  A congregational dinner will follow the meeting: Ham and Meatballs provided, bring sides and desserts to share.

College Student Care Packages

In the narthex you’ll see cards for our 24 college students and DJ Leonardi who is serving in the US Navy. These cards will be added to their care packages that will be sent out next week.  Please take the time to sign these cards and wish them well on their exams and to tell them you’re thinking about them.  You may never realize the difference your words make but it’s an amazing gift you’re giving!

Thanksgiving Service

Our community Thanksgiving worship will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal (corner of St. Andrews and Tram/Bush River) on Sunday at 7:00pm.

Fresh Expressions

Our next Fresh Expressions service will be Sunday, November 26th at 7:00. Molly Markley and Joanna Gragg will be doing the reflection for us.  Come at 6:00 for Family Ministries Annual Thanksgiving Tacos in the Fellowship Hall!  It will be a wonderful evening of giving thanks!

Annual Williamsburg Christmas Party

The annual Williamsburg Christmas Party is coming up, Sunday, December 3rd. If you’re looking for an incredible way to get in the Christmas spirit this should be on your list.  If you would like to join our youth, please sign up in the narthex by Sunday, November 26th so we can arrange transportation.

LIFT Needs Our Help!

Our LIFT Ministry began a project last Sunday that we now need the help of the entire congregation to finish. On December 10th, when LIFT meets again, our families will be delivering blankets to the residents of the Brian Center around the corner from Redeemer.  Each family made one together this past Sunday but we need a few more.  So over the next few weeks you will see these blankets throughout the church.  Take a second and tie some knots.  You’ll be helping share a smile and warmth to our neighbors!

Mid-week Advent Worship Services

Our mid-week Advent worship services will be December 6 and 13 and the theme is “Spoken By the Prophet.” We’ll look at two passages in Isaiah that speak of the coming Messiah. We will worship using Holden Evening Prayer.

No Wednesday Activities

There are no Wednesday activities or meal next Wednesday. Celebrate Thanksgiving with your family.

2018 Flower Chart

The 2018 Flower Chart is up on the bulletin board in the hallway near the old kitchen.  Please sign up now to ensure you reserve  your preferred Sunday.

Coat Collection

We will be collecting warm coats, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves for men, women and children of our community.  Please place your gently used (or new)  items in the large box located across from the Choir Room.  The collection ends Sunday, Feb. 4th.  Items will be distributed by  “Sharing God’s Love”! If you or someone that you know might benefit from any of these items,  please contact  the Church Office.  Remember… this is a wonderful way of helping others  #4him!

Giving Tree is Ready

The Giving Tree is ready.  You are invited to take tags from the tree and purchase Christmas gifts for needy children.  Each child has 3 tags on the tree.  With our help families from Sharing God’s Love and our own preschool will have Christmas gifts this year.  Please follow the instructions near the tree and return the gifts by Sunday Dec. 10.  Cash donations are welcome to help purchase a Wal Mart gift card for each family.  Any extra money received will be donated to Sharing God’s Love and the preschool.  The gifts you purchase are truly appreciated by the families.

Food Collection Sunday

Next Sunday, Nov. 26th, will again be Food Collection Sunday. As we enjoy our family feasts this Thanksgiving, let us remember there are many in our own area who are not so fortunate.  Thank you for generously sharing from your pantry with  our less fortunate neighbors though Sharing God’s Love.  All non-perishable food items are welcome and appreciated.

Family Promise is coming back!

It is that time again! Family Promise is coming back! Redeemer will be hosting Sunday, December 10th through Sunday December 17th. The Volunteer sign up board will be out in the narthex beginning November 5th. If you are interested in volunteering, but need more information please feel free to contact Shannon Smith or any of the team leaders– Carmen Moore for Evening Hosts and Laundry, Greg Cross for Overnight Hosts, Pat Crosby for Meals, and Joe Leonardi for Set-Up and Break-Down. You may contact any of the Family Promise Leaders at our email address: Volunteer training is required prior to interacting with families for new volunteers. We will have a “Meet the Families” session, Sunday, December 3rd directly after worship in the sanctuary. You MUST attend a volunteer training session before you are able to volunteer with Family Promise. Even if you have attended one before, we are usually able to provide more information about the specific families that will be coming at that point. We’re excited to host, and care for these families here at Redeemer and make Christ known! Check out the volunteer board in the Narthex to see where you can make a difference!

SOLE HOPE Denim Collection

As the weather is turning cooler and you are going through your winter clothes – if you have denim of any color that no longer fits, think about donating them to SOLE HOPE. This denim will be transformed into shoes.  There is a box in the small fellowship area for donations.

New Phone System

When you call the church, the phone rings to Debbie’s desk.  If Debbie is away from her desk, simply listen to the voicemail message and you will be given the extension to dial for the person you are trying to reach.

Annual Dasher Dinner on December 1st

The Lutheran Campus Ministry of the Columbia Area will hold their Annual Dasher Dinner on December 1st at 6:30 in the Sunoco Pavilion at the Darla Moore School at USC. This twelfth annual event is an opportunity to remember long time Campus Pastor, Robert Dasher.
